2nd Tuesday of every month - Rhinelander trip. We leave from St. Germain Community Center at 8:45 AM. Some to the movies and some to shop at Kohl's (new store), Walgreen's Aldi's, Wal-Mart, Trigs, Menards, or any other places in Rhinelander that you like to shop. Tuesdays - Line Dancing at 1:00 PM. Call 715-479-3947.
On the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month we go to the Vilas Food Pantry next to the Kalmar Center in Eagle River. We leave at 3:00 PM. from the St. Germain Community Center. We also pick up at the Senior homes and County Flaire for this trip. The bus returns at 6:30 during the winter months as a dinner is provided at 5:00 in the Kalmar Center. During the Summer months we leave at 3:00 PM. and return at 4:30 PM.

Wednesdays - Commission on Aging Meals at Fibbers at 12:00 Noon. Cost $3.00 Call 715-479-2951 to reserve.

First Wednesday - Regular PrimeTimers Meeting. Call 715-479-6310.

Wednesdays - Games and Cards at 6:00 PM. No sign up. Just show up. Bring a bag lunch. Call 715-479-6310.

Do you have an annoying medical condition that is always bothering you? Find ways to get back to enjoying life and minimizing the problem. Call the Commission on Aging at 715-479-3725 and ask about the support group that meets in the PrimeTimers meeting room at the St. Germain Community Center.

HELP! HELP! HELP!
The Commission on Aging is looking for drivers for the escort program. The escort driver transports others to medical appointments and shopping. As of January 1, 2009 it pays 55 cents per mile of travel. Your time is donated. Can you spare some time to help people who cannot drive? Call the Commission on Aging at

Vilas Food Pantry.

1542 Hwy. 45 North, Eagle River.
Located just north of Kalmar Senior Center.
Contact: Pam Zaugg 715-497-3388. Open every Wednesday of the month from 8:30 to 10:00 AM. and every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. It is recommended that you get on a schedule of picking up a 2 week supply of grocieries. This would allow you to go 2 times per month. Those who are picking up food supplies at the Vilas Pantry can eat next door at the Kalmar Center at 5:00 PM without charge. The Tuesday schedule may work out better for those who wish to dine at the Kalmar Center while they are in the area.

Lakeland Area Food Pantry.

1707 Hwy. 51 North, Arbor Vitae.
Located just north of Northern Lights Harley-Davison on the opposite side of the Hwy. It is open for food distribution each Tuesday. Doors open at 8:30 AM. with food distribution from 9-11:30 AM. Guidelines are available at the pantry

Boulder Junction Community Church Drop-In Food Pantry.

If you or someone you know is having trouble making ends meet and there is too much month left at the end of the money, we have a solution.

There is a variety of food products available for balanced nutrition. A two-week supply will be given out for those families who need it. Income guidelines have been expanded. This may be the extra needed for someone between jobs or laid off work or having a family crises.

Come to the Boulder Junction Community Food Pantry
Located at the Church Annex - (Garage)
located at 10441 Main St. (Hwy. K West) in Boulder Junction, WI. A simple form must be signed each vist. Proof of your physical address is required at each visit as this outlet serves the western half of Vilas County only. Proof of income is not required but we ask for a photo ID. Names are kept confidential and kept only at this location.

The pantry is open every week on Thursdays.  It is open from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. on some weeks and open from 3:30 to 5:00 PM. on alternating weeks.  Call 715-385-2146 for days and times to get the schedule. You may pick up your food supplies every other week.

The computer has been removed from the PrimeTimers room. The sewing machine has also been removed. Lessons will not be available for the computer or the sewing machine any longer.

COLLECT YOUR MILK BOTTLE CAPS!
We can get 5 cents for every bottle cap turned in for the St. Germain Elementary School. Bring your bottle caps to our regular meetings and we will see that the school gets them. The milk brands that work with this are: Golden Guernsey, Kemps, and Morning Glory.

SAVE YOUR CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS!
Turn them in to the PrimeTimers at the Regular meetings. These will also be turned in to the St. Germain Elementary School for redemption.

The Coalition for Wisconsin Aging Groups (CWAG)
Our own PrimeTimers members are now associated with CWAG. Fred Radtke was recently elected Vice President and Bob Meyers was elected to the Governing Board. CWAG is a grass-roots state organization that fights for the mature adult citizen. CWAG has helped to bring us Senior Care, Badger Plus programs, Benefit Specialists at the Commission on Aging, and has a panel of a dozen lawyers who help solve legal issues in cases of fraud, medicare issues, power of attorney medical issues and financial issues, wills and trusts.

Note: Loyd Black and Donna Rollman are off the Commission on Aging Board as of January 1, 2009.
State laws mandate a maximum 6 years consecutive service. Then another person must volunteer for the position.
The two positions have now been filled (see above).
