St. Germain PrimeTimers, Inc. - Helpful Info

The St. Germain PrimeTimers is a very active group. Activities are scheduled as reoccurring events (see the Weekly Events and Up Coming Events page) and events that happen once a year (see the Up Coming Events, Theater Plays and Special Tours pages).

To find out about a specific PrimeTimers activity contact our PrimeTimers Activities Directors: Fred and Carol Radtke 715-479-6310

Code Red registration – Vilas County had established a “Code Red” program that notifies you of impending bad weather, evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices and missing child reports. You must sign up for the Code Red Alerts. Go to www.co.vilas.wi.us then click on “Code Red” on the right-hand side. Fill in the required information including your home and cell telephone numbers. This will enable you to be notified regarding reports via your telephone.

Escort drivers – the Commission on Aging is looking for drivers for the escort program. The escort driver transports others to medical appointments and shopping. As of January 1, 2009, it pays 55 cents per mile of travel. Your time is donated. Can you spare some time to help people who cannot drive? Call the Commission on Aging at 715-479-3625.

Get Well & Sympathy Cards – Please notify our "Sunshine" person, Toni Newton 715-477-6280 if you know of a PrimeTimer that has an illness, hospitalization or death in their family so we can send them a card. This will help someone in distress receive a little sunshine in their day.

Grocery Store Receipts – When shopping at Camp’s Foods in Saint Germain please remember to put the PrimeTimer ID number ( CD11 ) on your receipt and place it in the basket provided in the store.
When shopping at Trigg’s in Eagle River please remember to put the PrimeTimer ID number ( 55S ) on your receipt and place it in the box near the door for non-profit donation.

New Voting Laws – Beginning with the February 2012 Primary Election you will need to produce an acceptable photo ID (an unexpired Wis. driver’s license, Wis. issued ID or U.S. Passport). You will also have to sign for your ballot. If you do not have a drivers license you will need to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles (the same place you get a driver’s license) and get a state photo ID. If you need a ride to get your ID call the Vilas County Commission on Aging at 715-479-3625. If you are a new resident you will need to bring a photo ID and two forms of proof of your current (for 28 days or more) address: a paid utility bill, rent receipt or other proof of address or a Wisconsin issued driver’s license.
Note: Be sure to request a free ID card for voting, otherwise there will be a $28 charge.
